Career Legacy - Chapter 11

Travis is a fantastic father.. despite being out of the country on photo shoots he manages to always make time for little Nettie.




..and before we know it it's already time for a birthday!





Hmmm, nose picking must be another odd Abernathy trait along with wandering eyes and crotch attention.



Nettie's hair was a tad too high maintenance so I sent her in for a makeover... easier to care for, more 'toddler' appropriate ponytails. I also noticed that she has brown eyes. Lavender eyes was a strong Abernathy trait up until now, but even Mom Carrie's eyes are a really cool olive green.




Carrie also takes time from her very (VERY) busy schedule to maker sure Nettie gets the lessons she'll need to grow up well.



Nettie seems to love the blocks over the other baby toys. She's also rolled her Career!!

Travis' Photog career is going nicely and his photos are selling for great prices (thanks to lots of traveling) and daily rounds to the local Community Garden and down town locations. But Sundays are developing days. On that day Travis spends most of the day in his dark room, life feels just a little less hectic here.





Carrie however is loving life and her new baby fat free body. She only wishes her boss would let her back to work sooner. She's not getting any younger and has alot of maternity leave catching up to do.




During one of his trips into town Travis hit up the Consignment shop. He'd heard about it but never actually checked out the odd stuff for sale. He found a strange looking Gnome. It's called the Sculptor (I think) Gnome. Travis wonders if it will magically pose in odd places around the yard like the Gnomes at the French Museum.




He also bought a Time Machine.. he didn't really expect it to work ...but .. it DID!





Travis was shocked to notice that his clothes didn't morph back to normal upon returning to his own time. Not that he minded, he actually thought they looked kind of cool.




And the family didn't seem to mind either, little Nettie even seemed excited to see Daddy in his clunky funny costume. He liked his costume so much he brought Carrie along on one of his travels in hopes that she would get a cool outfit as well...





The Fly .. The Fly!!!! ... luckily the two were able to re-enter the capsule and free themselves.. hahaha.




Carrie was finally allowed back to work. She's only managed to make it to level 4 in the Political Career and is 7 days from aging up to an elder. I'd say she should get a move on but she's already racing around trying to get in those extra hours at work.




And Travis continues to make his usual rounds around town for his daily photo ops, though his odd outfit seems to have attracted some attention.... and tale telling....




Which is fine with him since Travis and Carrie do love their gossip sessions.




Nettie had a wonderful toddlerhood and was always playing and smiling.. let's hope this bodes well for the next stage of sim life....




And surprise (ha) today is the Day ... and Nettie spins into Childhood without any worries. Her traits are now ~ Brave , Insane and Hates The Outdoors.




Another hair style change and eyebrow maintenance session!




Travis is off to the Orient again...He misses his family but the photog business abroad is just too lucrative to pass up. And the sooner Travis can reach his goal of Top Photographer , the sooner he can semi retire and spend even more time with his family.



After returning from one especially long trip, Carrie decided to surprise Travis with a Sculpting station. She hoped it would be both relaxing and profitable.. she'd much rather have him in his dark room at home than constantly out of the country trying to support his family. Travis did find that he enjoyed sculpting very much. His first sculpture.... a display stand for some of the many relics he's acquired during his travels.





He also brought back a surprise for Carrie. A handy dandy Sarcophagus!! Carrie wasn't convinced that they could use it for much, Travis suggested they christen it then decide. Carrie figured why not...




Uhhh-Oh!!




How could Carrie be pregnant? It seemed a funny thing at the time to 'do it' in the sarcophagus but this new pregnancy was really going to jeopardize Carries ability to reach the top of her Career. She's still only level 4 and once the new baby is born she will likely be just a day or two from turning Elder, with 4 more days of mandatory maternity leave holding her back. On the plus side Travis and her added on to the house and decorated the new nursery.. sure it's blue but boy or girl it's cute and room color shouldn't define a person!! Hahaha.





The big day finally arrived. Travis freaked out quite a bit and convinced Carrie to go to the hospital for this delivery..she was 'older' after all, things could go wrong!!




They only made it out the front door and the baby was not going to wait for the cab the hospital.

Meanwhile back in town... I have no idea what is going on but lately every time people see Travis coming they flip out. I'm not sure if it's his odd new outfit that is causing the ruckus or if it's the constant invasion of privacy they feel from being photographed every day, everywhere. But Travis had a job to do and needs just a few more pictures to reach Level 10 of the Photography Career.




And following one last picture of the Town Theater Travis sold all his pictures which brought his total sales up to $68,000 or so he needed to reach the Top of the Career and receive the distinguished title of Snap Dragon.

~ Reach Top of Career -Check !
~ Talk About Cameras (* Gossip every conversation if no Photo Eye Trait) -Check !
~ Make a Darkroom, Spend at least 6hrs per week there -Check !
~ Display Photo of Pyramids, French Museum, and Scholars Garden in home ....



... -Check !!





... -Check !!



... AND ... -Check !!

Now to fingers and toes crossed that Carrie is able to complete the Political Career before old Grimmy shows up.
